Amey Karnik is a Technical Expert in Control Systems and Perception Algorithms development, with a demonstrated history of working in the automotive industry and academia. He has 15 years of experience in using systems theory and data analysis to drive technology development with focus on Control Systems Design. Amey joined Ford Motor Company in 2007 and worked on various aspects of controls development for propulsion systems and advanced algorithms development. He has a varied experience in successfully deploying algorithms in research and production covering, classical control, advanced control methods such as model predictive control, and data driven machine learning algorithms. Some of his product delivery contributions to the Ford products include Airpath Controls for Ford's EcoBoost lineup, Advanced Cylinder Deactivation Controls for V8 engines, Perception Algorithms for Ford's ADAS features. He has also served as a visiting lecturer at the University of Michigan and faculty at IIT Gandhinagar. Amey graduated with an undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Mumbai, India, in 2002, and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, in 2004 and 2007, respectively
